Local shopping advice

If you want a genuine feel for Alicante’s shopping scene, spend a morning at Mercado Central. This isn’t just a place to buy food, it’s where locals meet, chat, and gather. Don’t just stick to the produce stalls; check out the small delicatessens for a taste of local cheeses and cured meats. Also, wandering through the narrow streets of Santa Cruz neighborhood after your market visit will lead you to some tiny artisan shops that don’t always advertise but carry unique locally made goods. It’s rewarding to show up early before the crowds and linger with a coffee in hand.
