Jenny Anne Morrison - Artist
Alicante
Jenny's original paintings, limited edition prints and cards make beautiful, personalised gifts
'The world is but a canvas to the imagination,'. This famous quote by poet and philosopher Henry David Thoreau perfectly sums up the talent of artist Jenny Anne Morrison.
The passion of Spanish flamenco dancers, beautiful horses, dancers, landscapes, seascapes and sunsets, ballerinas, places and people have all been lovingly captured by Jenny's eye and imagination.
Many people in the Alicante region will have seen her wide variety of paintings, prints and cards at her pop-up shops, exhibitions, art galleries and within the Calpe Bed Centre. Jenny also holds regular open days at her 300-year-old townhouse in Tormos.
As you walk through the door to her home, La Casa de los Sueños, you are surrounded by beautiful paintings created by Jenny. Going from room to room, you will be drawn into her imagination on canvas in the charming setting of a traditional Spanish home.
Jenny's love affair with art began when she was given a camera as a gift. She travelled the world and used every opportunity to capture scenes on canvas.
She was so inspired that she went on to study at the Heatherly School of Fine Art in Chelsea, London, where she worked with many different mediums and learnt to draw the human figure.
Jenny had not picked up a paintbrush since childhood and her talent quickly shone through with nine pieces of her work selected for the end-of-year student exhibition.
Together with her husband, Jenny celebrated the success with dinner at a fashionable Portobello Road restaurant in central London. The owner was keen to see her works and before long, Jenny's paintings were adorning the restaurant walls.
She continues to be inspired by the beautiful scenery, amazing light and personalities from her home in the Costa Blanca. Her first Exhibition in the region was at the Grand Opening of the Art House Gallery in Benidoleig.
She continued to study art and enrolled at the highly-prestigious Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, Canada. Since then Jenny has built up a global network of clients and continues to commute between Spain, Canada and London.
In the past few years, Jenny has enjoyed successful exhibitions in Spain and London as well as helping charity events in Spain. She supported a charity for homeless animals and helped to raise funds so a dog could be taken to a new forever home in the UK.
Jenny has a special love of animals which shines through in her latest collection of animal portraits.
Her Spanish home is also proving to be the perfect venue for hosting private exhibitions and in November 2013 she welcomed 150 art lovers to see her works with pieces being sold to clients from around Europe.
You can buy original works of art, limited edition prints and cards which make lovely gifts.
Jenny says her main objective as an artist 'is to inspire hope, to lift the spirit, to elevate the soul and to give inner peace, joy and happiness'.
