Description
You will leave Valencia at 9am and head to Calpe. Calpe is a beautiful city with its spectacular natural park, Peñon de Ifach. Anyone who wants can challenge their own limits on the ascent to the top of the Rock, from where you will contemplate the impressive views of the Mediterranean and you will even be able to see the island of Formentera, Ibiza and the Cape of Santa Pola if the weather is nice. During the ascent you will find samples of fauna and flora of the Natural Park, which is home to more than 80 species of birds and around 400 species of plants. The journey to the top consists of two levels of difficulty, a very simple first section and a second of medium difficulty, which requires more skill and dexterity, but especially suitable shoes. - Route information - Difficulty: First part Easy - Second part Medium/High Linear route (round trip) Total distance: 2km (round trip) Elevation gain: 332m Approximate time: 2-3 hours (round trip) What should you bring if you wanna take part in the hike? Hiking shoes, appropriate clothing, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and plenty of water. You will also have the whole day to relax and discover the promenade. Calpe is a stunning and very famous seaside resort and therefore has very nice beaches that you can enjoy. Calpe is also a historical city, where archaeological remains dating from the Bronze Age are found. This city was key during the Roman Empire, and some of the inheritances of this time that are conserved are the Queen's Baths. In this picturesque city, you can find from infinite beaches of fine sand, to hidden coves and pristine waters, where you can rest and sunbathe. Calpe is an ideal place for scuba diving and water sports, so we encourage you to try one. In addition, this city also awaits the Parque de las Salinas, a set of lagoons of former salt exploitation, where a large number of birds reside, as well as an important colony of pink flamingos and storks.
