The City Council of Dénia and Valencian Tourism Agency have organised the first D*NA festival from 30 September to 1 October, which aims to bring together prestigious chefs and other gastronomy experts to discover and taste the Mediterranean cuisine. It will be open from Saturday 11.30am to 11pm and Sunday 11.30am to 6pm.
The event was presented at the CdT of Valencia by the mayor of Dénia and Councillor for Tourism, Vicent Grimalt, as well as the regional secretary of Turisme, Francesc Colomer and the Denia chef of Dénia with three Michelin stars, Quique Dacosta, who will be taking part in the D*NA gastronomy festival in Denia . Joining him are Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca), Angel Leon (Aponiente), Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz) and Jordi Cruz (AbaC).
The D*NA fiesta will be held very close to the sea in the Paseo de la Marineta Casiana with a large table of 300 metres for people to enjoy traditional dishes, along with avant-garde creations, regional products and local handicrafts.
Two large stages will host different live cooking sessions in which the invited chefs will look into how traditional knowledge and innovation work together in today's Mediterranean gastronomy. One of the attractions of D*NA in Denia is the interaction with the public through children's workshops or interventions of producers, artisans and cooks in which they will show how to cook the famous Denia red prawn or make cocas.
The mayor of Denia, Vicent Grimalt, stressed that this event "will help to put Denia and the Comunidad Valencianaon the world map for its gastronomy and products of our land.
