Redovan Via Ferrata: Climbing and Bridge Crossing near Alicante

The Redovan Via Ferrata offers two climbing routes in Alicante: a family-friendly K2 section and a more challenging K4 sports section suitable for experienced climbers.

Highlights

  • Climb iron staples embedded in rock walls
  • Cross a Tibetan-style hanging bridge
  • Walk multiple suspension bridges with natural views over Redovan

Description

The K2 family section is an easier itinerary ideal for all skill levels. It begins with a vertical climb using iron staples close enough for safe ascent. Then, you cross a 25-meter-long suspension bridge over a ravine.

After the bridge, you climb a ramp with handrails leading to a Tibetan-style bridge. This bridge connects to a swing pass, a monkey bridge, and additional vertical climbing. The route takes about one hour and includes exit paths for early return.

The K4 sports section increases in difficulty and is geared toward climbers comfortable with more technical obstacles. It starts with overhanging clamps and a sloping ledge with handrails.

Climbers ascend more iron staples to reach a viewpoint 60 meters high. Next is the hinge pass, a walkway at 90 meters elevation just two meters from the cliff face. The route continues with an inverted staircase, more staples, 40-meter suspension bridges, and a final steep ramp.
