Reviews
We traveled all the way from Benidorm because I wanted to introduce my partner to authentic Spanish paella, and Casa Julio was the only place I wanted to take him. I hadn't been back since 2023, and it exceeded every expectation. It was just as incredible as I remembered. The seafood paella was absolutely phenomenal. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It was everything authentic paella should be and worth the trip on its own. What made the experience even more special was our waiter. He was such a kind, patient, and welcoming Spanish gentleman. I tried my best to speak the little Spanish I know, and instead of making me feel self-conscious, he smiled, clapped, and encouraged me. His warmth and kindness made us feel so welcome that I honestly felt like giving him a hug when we left. Great food can bring you in, but genuine hospitality is what makes you remember a place forever. If you're anywhere near Alicante, make a reservation and go. Casa Julio is an unforgettable experience. ❤️
Coffee taste great and views are amazing!!! Service very pleasant, definitely the place to have a break from coastal walk !
I first went to this restaurant 30 years ago. It was a memorable experience then. The Tables outside used to be on the beach, which was an incredible experience but not at all practical for the waiters. Today, this place is still one of my favorite places to go. Classic Spanish restaurant menu, with a good selection of wines. The food is delicious the service is quick. It's poetry in motion watching how professionally run this restaurant is, but this place also has soul. It's a real treat. There is a reason it's been open since 1948.
We had some tapas and beers. The food was okay. The garlic shrimps was okay, but a little bland.
The location is, of course, fantastic — right on the beach. The mussels were tasty, but I was a bit surprised that the €16 option is served without tomato sauce. So I chose the €19 version with curry sauce, although the sauce was a bit thin for my taste. The service was okay, but not particularly warm or welcoming. Overall, it was good, but I’m not sure if I would come back again.
