Description

Discover the inland side of Alicante on a half-day guided experience combining short private-vehicle transfers with easy walks through history, nature, and traditional villages. From Dénia or Jávea, travel into the Marina Alta to visit Fontilles Sanatorium, one of the area’s most striking architectural and historical sites. Step inside its walls on a guided walk and learn about its story—past and present—from local experts. Continue into Vall de Laguar, formed by three villages—Campell, Fleix, and Benimaurell—known locally as the lower, middle, and upper village. Enjoy a relaxed stroll through quiet streets and small squares, with mountain scenery, stone steps, washhouses, and fountains along the way. You’ll also pause for a breakfast or light-snack break (not included), ideal for recharging before the next gentle hike. A scenic path leads through terraced landscapes of cherry, almond, and olive trees toward Benimaurell, offering a close-up look at the valley’s rural character. Afterward, head up to Collao de Garga, the valley’s high point, where wide views open to the Mediterranean on one side and some of Alicante’s most beautiful mountains on the other. In summer, you can optionally cool off with a stop at the public swimming pool (entry not included). Return to the starting point with a deeper sense of the hidden corners of the Costa Blanca—guided by locals who know the stories behind the landscape.
