De eigenaren Eddie en Jan kochten ongeveer 12 jaar geleden een vakantiehuis in San Miguel. Ze vonden het daar zo leuk dat ze hun vastgoedbedrijf San Miguel Estates hebben opgezet.

San Miguel behoudt nog steeds een Spaanse smaak, maar het is ook een kosmopolitische stad waar veel expats zich vestigen. Het ligt halverwege tussen Alicante en Cartagena en heeft twee internationale luchthavens in de buurt, Alicante en Murcia.
