This place ended up being such a delightful experience. We found it while wondering around looking for dinner on our last night in Alicante. It's a small place and there were only two servers but they were both super attentive and nice even though it was pretty busy. The food was so good and came out pretty quickly even though it was busy. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
Great place. Became my go to for trying vermut. Excellent food. Be careful about ordering too many tapas. They are larger than the norm.
Pipirrana was the first restaurant I visited in Alicante, and I've been coming back ever since. The place feels like their well-catered selection of vermú: cozy and sophisticated, yet at the same time unpretentious. Perfect for a relaxing evening of (slow) sampling, the Spanish 'picoteo'. They tend to switch up their suppliers so each visit offers something new. This time, they really nailed everyting. The cheeses was remarkable and equally irresistable. The vermú was fantastic, they have a great selection and the waiters are ready to help you choose according to your taste. I also recommend ordering the bread (served warm) with alioli and tomato, and the olives. Many thanks to the team and especially the waiter who kindly attended us at the terrace in Carrer Major the evening of May 5.
Excellent experience at Pipirrana Vermut. I had the black rice paella and it was outstanding — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, exactly what you hope for in Spain. Prices are fair and match what's on the menu, no surprises. The waiter was very polite and discreet — attentive without ever being intrusive, which is exactly the kind of service that makes a meal enjoyable. The location is ideal as well, easy to find and pleasant to sit at. Highly recommended. I'll come back.
Popped in for Vermouth yesterday evening about 8.30pm, great little place, nice vibe to it, great service from the bar man. Vermouth: we had the red and white, both nice. Will probably return while we are visiting Alicante.
