Rock of Ifach

The Penon de Ifach has been a symbol of the region since ancient times and would have been an important landmark for sailors in bygone days.

Now it is a nature reserve offering a haven to many wild birds, mammals and reptiles as well as interesting flora and fauna. It has been declared one of the seven wonders of the Valencia community.

There are several ways to walk around the rock, including an easy way and a hard way. However, don't be fooled, even the easy way is not for the fainthearted. It is well worth the climb though as during your walk, you will see many amazing views across to sea and to the town of Calpe. You may even come across some interesting wildlife including birds of prey.

Calpe has beaches and a lagoon where you can relax after your walk. You will find many restaurants and hotels in Calpe if you intend to explore the town further.
