Nice experience when you’re in Alicante! The food is obviously amazing and the service is probably even better! Very kind and attentive. The interior of the restaurant gives a special and unique touch to it. The windows are so small you don’t even realize you’re not in the middle of a tourist environment.
A must-visit in Alicante! An amazing experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. The food was world-class, and every dish was a pleasure to enjoy. Dining here was an absolute delight, and I will definitely return the next time I visit this part of Spain.
A restaurant that we think back on with a bit of mixed feelings. First of all the nightclub-like interior, you have to love it, but it is special. The fact that the separate Wi-Fi for clients did not work, was at most annoying, because you come there for the food. And that started very well: beforehand we had the 'foie nougat with blood orange and campari sauce' where a sweet garnish (which is often served with foie) was added here very originally in 'crunchy' pieces with a fantastic sweet-sour taste flavor combination. The signature dish 'panfried egg with foie gras sauce, mushrooms and truffles' was also a hit, because the flavors of the ingredients came through nicely and reinforced each other. Super class! After that it became less; the main course 'turnados rossini' came with a sauce based on Pedro Ximenez, which was sweet as syrup and missed the nutty, fresh-savory taste of a classic madeira sauce. It was extra annoying that the sauce was not put on the board, but was poured over the meat, so there was no escape from the sweet taste. In addition, the meat was not particularly tender, at least not what you would expect from a dish that is on the menu for €55. The staff responded very well and professionally to our comment. So yes: it was a mixed experience for us there at the 'Krug Embassy'.
Went to El Portal two evenings in a row, to check consistency. They did not recognize not that would change something but it could have been a nice touch remembering the same couple with the same reservation details in less than 24h. Anyway, the environment, the vibe, the music, the setup are great. The food has been excellent. Well prepared, great flavor, highly consistent. The service has been slightly different between the two visits. The second was less focused, less details oriented, more "fast and furious" compared to the previous evening. If the "experience" is a combination of environment, food and service, overall has been great and highly recommended place to go, but I'm giving 4 on the service. Be excellent, imply excellence, and consistency, on all aspects of the experience. A visit here can't be missed.
This place is "the place" to be when youre in Alicante and you want to enjoy the best of the best. The people working here was so nice and professional...from the waitresses/waiters, the bartenders, the DJ and the kitchenstaff. The food was so incredible that we went there 3 nigths in a row for the food, desserts and drinks.
