We visited La Terrazza del Gourmet twice during our stay in Alicante, including for my wife's birthday, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The garlic shrimp were incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The crystal bread with fresh tomato and olive oil was a simple but flawless starter, made with excellent ingredients. The absolute star of the meal was the creamy paella with shrimp and squid. It was rich, perfectly cooked, and by far the best rice dish we had in Alicante. The desserts were just as memorable. Their take on cheesecake was unlike any traditional cheesecake we've had before, with an explosion of flavors that came together in perfect harmony. The chocolate mousse was equally exceptional, offering different textures and deep chocolate flavors that any chocolate lover will appreciate. We also tried the local Monastrell Borasca wine, which paired beautifully with the food and was an excellent recommendation. The service was friendly and professional throughout, and the location on the promenade creates a fantastic atmosphere. Sitting outside with the lively waterfront, especially in the evening, made the whole experience even more enjoyable and was the perfect setting for a special occasion. It's certainly not the cheapest restaurant in Alicante, but considering the quality of the ingredients, the creativity of the dishes, and the overall experience, we found it to be excellent value for money. We would happily return on our next visit.
I came here 4 times. This time the service was terrible and I tried the chicken paella, didn’t enjoy it. The seafood paella is way better. We waited for 1h10mins for our paella to arrive, because the waiter forgot to ask the kitchen. And no kind gesture in return. At the moment of paying, the other waiter didn’t even say a word. Silent payment. Seems like the waiters are poorly trained. Very cold service this time.
