What a georgous place to enjoy the food, splendid sea view, nice shadow from the trees. I highly recommend to taste the paellas, as well as the gazpacho. Only negative point - they close at 8pm.
Highly recommend, Olala is a beautiful restaurant in perfect setting. The food was all delicious recommend the Valencian paella and iberico pork. The service was also great. We went a few times whilst we were in the area and will definitely be back!
This is one of my favorite spots. First and foremost because the food is excellent. The Calamar Baladrar is simply outstanding—the best calamari I’ve ever had. I can never resist ordering it again and again. They sometimes offer a small additional menu with seasonal suggestions, and those dishes are also top-notch (for example, a squid bun they recently created for a culinary competition in Benissa—really impressive). The paella needs to be reserved in advance. It’s good, but not the best I’ve ever had. That said, there are genuinely delicious things coming out of this kitchen. The wines by the glass are not particularly remarkable, but the bottles on the wine list are definitely good. Another big reason to come here is the location. It’s probably one of the most beautiful spots along this part of the Costa Blanca. The view is stunning, and the terrace under the trees is just wonderful. That said, there are a couple of downsides—which I tend to accept because of the two strong points above. However, if they addressed these, this place could truly become a top-tier destination (and the slightly higher prices would feel more justified): 1. Service: It varies a lot, but overall it could be warmer and more attentive. At times, the staff seem to master the art of ignoring customers, which is quite unpleasant. There have been moments when I felt like calling the restaurant by phone just to get someone to come to my table—even when the place was not busy. Sometimes they seem understaffed, but that’s not really an excuse. To be fair, there are occasions when the service is charming—but unfortunately, those moments are too rare. This is clearly an area for improvement. 2. Terrace & table setup: With just a little effort, the terrace could be made much more attractive and cozy. A few more parasols and some thoughtful decoration would make a big difference. Even with these remarks, I’ll definitely remain a loyal customer.
Great view and venue, chicken wrap was fab, and cheeseboard had a really good selection of cheese. Friendly team, parking can be a challenge. Worth a try.
INSECTS IN FOOD Nice view… terrible food and terrible service. Upon arrival we were given a choice of 3 tables despite there only being 3 other groups in the restaurant because of “reservations” (these were the tables with the best views and were never filled in the hour and a bit we were there). We weren’t given menus for the first 5 minutes then were asked what we wanted to get twice within 5 minutes of receiving them. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for a server to come over as they ignored our polite attempts to get their attention. The food came VERY quickly and it was clear it was of low quality. We ordered the chicken wrap and falafel wrap and were disappointed with both. The tortillas were stale, the falafel was tasteless, dry, and burned, and came in a huge lump which I had to cut up and re wrap just to be able to eat, and the chicken was unseasoned and overcooked… worst of all was the INSECTS we found in the lettuce. If you’re paying for a meal the last thing you want is clearly unwashed lettuce with multiple insects in it. The servers were rude throughout our visit and we won’t be returning which is unfortunate as we had hoped to find a new spot to bring our family and friends.
