Cabo Roig is starting to turn Green for St Patrick's Day on the Costa Blanca with more than 10,000 people joining in to make it the the second largest celebration in Europe, after Dublin, and sixth in the world.
Activities start on St. Paddy's Day just after noon, with TKO providing music and entertainment throughout the afternoon. The parade starts around 3.00pm, led by a procession of classic cars and motorbikes, prior to St. Patrick himself, plus floats from many of the local pubs and business, dance schools, local clubs and associations, all providing entertainment for the spectators along the entire Cabo Roig Strip.
For those who would like to support this non-profit, valuable and colourful touristic event for the community, there are a number of ways to do so. There are prizes to be won for the best three floats: 500€ first prize plus 300€ and 200€ for second and third.
