Event Details
The San Gregorio and blessing of the bread festivities in Torremanazanas date back to 1658, the year in which the town was freed from a plague of locusts thanks to this saint. For this reason, he is offered the 'Pa Beneït' (blessed bread, about 6-8 kg in weight, made by hand, adorned with flowers and fine embroidered fabrics.)
It is a beautiful ceremony with the villagers dressed in typical costumes. Beautiful flowers are offered to the saint. Then, the highlight is the Parade of Bread, a spectacular parade with the women balancing the huge loaves decorated with flowers on their heads to offer to their saint.
